portraits on Rue Lambert

First, there was this small portrait by Morèje, aka Jérôme Gulon. His street art pieces have mosaic frames made from tiny multicoloured tiles. Back in 2015, he made a series of portraits to honour the people who died in the Charlie Hebdo shooting. These can be seen in a blog post from 2016.

The rest of the portraits on Rue Lambert are part of Rue Meurt D’Art, projects by Jean-Marc Paumier including these; the one on the left strongly resembles the man in the above portrait.

inti in the 13th, Paris

There are two very large murals in Paris by South American street artist INTI. INTI was born in Valparaíso, Chile and he takes his name from the Quechua word for ‘the Sun’.

The first mural is a tall one on the side of an apartment building on Avenue L’Italie near Rue Du Tage in the 13th arrd. Its title is “Our Utopia is Their Future”.

The second INTI mural is also in the 13th arrd. This time it is a very large horizontal mural on a fence. It’s also difficult to take a picture of the whole thing! It seems to be a doll dressed in a patchwork of colours and patterns filled with symbols. His knees are wooden masks and he has two gold charms attached to his belt.

dancing in the glitter, Paris

I am not sure what they’re really called, or even if they actually have names. I saw these glittery confetti women dancing on a number of walls in Paris last spring. They are part of a series called ‘It’s time to dance’ by French street artist SOBR.

Is she still dancing on the walls?

As you walk around Paris, you see a lot of altered street signs that are witty and well done such as this no right turn sign that has been changed into the Eiffel Tower.

There are some signs that have been altered by other people

On a wall on rue Gaby Sylvia in the 11th arrd. of Paris, there are five small portraits of men who died in the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical magazine, 7 January 2015.
