The following pieces of graffiti and street art were found in a lane that more an entranceway to an apartment complex parking garage than an alley.   I forgot to make note of where it was, except that it is somewhere in Fitzroy.   There were a number of tag-like, or letter, graffiti that I didn’t photograph.  Amongst those there were a few stencils and paste-ups that were interesting.

guerilla territory

As I have walked around Melbourne, I have seen a number of paper paste-ups by street artist baby guerilla.  I’ve collected the photos that I have taken of these paste-ups in the past month and put them in one blog post.  Some of these photos have appeared in previous posts.

down Drewery Lane

Drewery Lane runs south between Little Lonsdale and Lonsdale streets in downtown Melbourne.  It continues south of Lonsdale as Caledonian Lane and I have posted previously about the street art that I saw in Caledonian Lane.   Although Drewery Lane is only one block long, three other alleys branch off of it, Drewery Place, Drewery Alley and Snider Lane.  This post is about the street art that I saw on all of these alleys.

There isn’t much street art in the town of Bendigo – or I was wasn’t in the right part of town.  The five pictures below is all that I saw.

around Jewell station

Jewell train station is on the Upfield line in Brunswick.  The Upfield Bikeway path runs alongside the tracks at this point.   Most of the walls along the bike path have street art on them.  This is a selection of the graffiti that I saw around Jewell station and south from there  to Park street.

between Brunswick and Anstey stations

It’s a short walk north from Brunswick station on the Melbourne Metro train line to the next station, Anstey.  A bike and pedestrian path runs beside the train tracks.  Some of the following photos were taken along that path while some of the photos were from nearby lanes.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Two large murals dominate the corner of East Ogden Ave and an alley that runs between North 7th and North 8th streets. Covering the corner of large parking garage on the north side of that corner is a very large man painted in 2014 by Spanish artist Borondo. It was painted as part of Las Vegas’s Life is Beautiful art and music festival.

Across the alley is a mural by Finton Magee also painted as part of the 2014 Life is Beautiful festival.

At first glance, Magee’s mural seems to be a beach theme but then you notice the cabbages and the rabbits. She’s not lying on sand either. More cabbages and rabbits are on the other corner of the same building. And what might have been sand looks a lot like fabric. A rifle leans against the building.
