Christina Angelina, painted this very large mural on the side of an Office Depot store in the Kaka’ako neighborhood in Honolulu.
It shows two women warriors (? or Roman goddesses?) each wearing helmets and holding a gray and pink bird. The long curved beaks of the birds almost touch and their bodies come close to forming a heart shape.
below: Hertel Alley Gallery – the “gallery” encompasses three blocks of Hertel Alley (runs parallel to Hertel Ave between Traymore and Colvin). It is the scene of the Hertel Alley Street Art Festival, first started in 2019. At present there are more than 20 murals. I haven’t presented all of them here, instead I have featured the ones on this building. The others will follow in subsequent postings.

below: In the middle of the roundabout is a sculpture called “The Sun on the EDGE” by Ilan Averbuch. The title is a play on the word edge as the roundabout is located in the EDGE District of downtown St. Petersburg.

The other day I blogged about street art on a set of stairs in Amman. Today I have a few photos that I took on a different set of stairs. They too were popular with locals and tourists, with small shops and a restaurant. The difference is that this one had umbrellas.
below: Standing near the top of the stairs, high above Prince Mohammad Street. Open umbrellas in shades of blue and purple are strung overhead to provide some shade and some colour. On the right is a tall metal structure – that is an elevator for those who don’t feel like taking the stairs.
below: There were a lot of little flower pots attached to the walls. Some were painted in bright colours and some were terra cotta brown.
below: A line of flower pots on a white wall where people have written numbers, dates, names, and messages, especially proclamations of love with little hearts.
below: Listen to the sound of your heart. It seems like Dalal loves Eyad.
below: A row of “books” under the window – they don’t seem to have titles.
exitenter is a prolific graffiti artist whose art is usually centered around red hearts, love, and equality. The pieces with their stick figures are simple and direct.

In the Gueliz part of Marrakech I saw two walls that were painted by 400ml (aka Hicham Bellaghzal). The first three pictures show the first wall presented from left to right.
“love love love”
“When we haven’t what we like we must like what we have.”
“Yesterday I really wanted pizza. Today I’m eating pizza. Follow your dreams.”
Nearby is another mural. If I remember correctly, it’s just off Av Hassan II close to the train station. Again, from left to right.
Rocco Morocco and a boy chasing a butterfly. The love equation.
