Close to Tropicana Baseball Field is this large mural. It is 30 feet high and 148 feet wide and covers the east wall of Modern Furniture. The girl resting with a doberman was painted by Evoca1.

In the first photo, you can see small parts of another mural. This one features well known cartoon characters such as the cats Felix and Garfield, as well as Disney’s Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, and Goofy. It was painted by Greg Mike as part of the SHINE mural festival in 2021.

below: The last mural here, on the far side of the back building, is another recent painting. Also part of the SHINE 2021 festival is “Tell Me How You Feel, Part III” by Bakpak Durden.

This large mural was painted by BASK, aka Alex Hostomsky, in the spring of 2014.
The mural continues on a nearby box but with orange.
near Picoas metro station – Lisbon
The Cronos Project initiative involved painting murals on the walls of three large abandoned old building on Av Fontes Pereira Melo close to the Picoas metro station. They were painted by several international artists including the Brazilian Os Gémeos, the Italians Blu and Erica Il Cane, and the Spaniard SAM3. Since the murals were painted in 2010, smaller graffiti – both paint and paper – has been layered over the lower portions.

other Artist Lane murals and graffiti, Windsor, 2018
Artist Lane runs parallel to Chapel Street between Green and Union streets, just north of Windsor railway station. Most of the lane is covered with street art of some sort.

What looks to be an abandoned house in Guayaquil that has some street art and graffiti on it. Some nice painting, some scribbles. Animals too – cat, dog, mouse, and bird.
creatures and faces, Thessaloniki
below: A large mural in Thessaloniki by DAL and Faith47.

below: Large owl in purple and white with pink eyes staring at you.
below: A mad dog (wolf?) with teeth showing, chasing a man in green.
below: All you see are the blue eyes… veil by vales?
below: It reminded me of the story of the Trojan horse. Or you can think of it as two modes of transportation, then and now.
below: Encircled in purple
below: How is your Greek? I haven’t a clue but I hope it’s not too profane. When I tried a google image search, it came up with maps of Thessaloniki – is that a clue? I thought the image was more like a bird.
below: Making music. Once again the words are written in Greek so I don’t understand them.
below: White tigers on a wall. Mama and her two little ones along with some paste-up faces.
below: Death sneaks up from behind. Colourful.
below: Oh no! Another picture with a motorbike!

altered signs, Madrid
Altered signs in Madrid are the mainly the work of two different artists. The first is a local that goes by the name Yipi Yipi Yeah, or YYY for short. The second is Clet Abraham whose work is found in most large European cities. Searching for these signs can make a game out of walking around a city!
below: A YYY sign, “pais apatrida busca asilo” while wearing a Spain T-shirt that says “Spain is different”. The words on the white bar translate to “stateless country seeks asylum”
below: Another Yipi Yipi Yeah sign with a Spanish theme -this time a crowd is cheering as flour black bulls go after other people.
below: A single matador on the crosswalk with his red cloak leading the way.
below: A yield sign becomes cleavage that is barely held together by a couple of pieces of lace.
below: Fishing. The word is perdigon, a young partridge. I’m not sure if it part of YYY’s work.
below: Swinging on the one way sign.
The next few are by Clet Abrahams.
below: A similar sign appears in an earlier post on altered signs in Paris.
below: Skateboarding on Calle de Fucar.
below: Black dog pees against white wall.
below: Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou?
below: Chiselling away at the mouth, an artist at work.
below: Good morning sunshine.
below: There are a few signs that are the work of an unknown person, including this xenofobia stencil.
below: And last, also by an unknown person, are these eyes watching over the street.

Quito Ecuador
There is a lot of street art in Quito. It covers a lot of concrete walls that are part of the city’s infrastructure (supports for elevated roads, walls around buildings, etc). Here is some that I saw in February 2018.
below: Two people, one inside sitting pretty in pink and one outside.
below: A bird in flight. One wing looks like flames while the other wing resembles water. Signed by yo-ho-ho.
below: Many, many faces in pink.
below: Part dragon and part fish?
below: A painting by BEGO
The next few paintings were on a wall surrounding an house that was falling down.
below: This is the last of the photos from the ruined building – note the broken bottles across the top of the wall. That’s very common in Quito… although electric fences seem to be replacing broken glass as a means of keeping trespassers out.
below: Crab (lobster?) hands
‘
below: Laughing and pointing
below: Someone stole an orange cone.
below: Covering his mouth and I don’t think that it’s because he’s coughing.
below: Me
below: Pasteup over his face, a mouse and a mousetrap
below: Another gorgeous bird. Signed by Pagach? (Pagache?)
below: Painted on a rusty metal gate. Reaching for the skull. I am not sure of the words but if it’s “ponte y las alas” that translates to ‘stand and the wings’ but there are more letters. Any ideas anyone? Painted by Aster in 2017.
below: Resiste
below: Graffiti behind the fence
below: Supay Corpus in a residential area.
below: Someone likes to paint underwear, men’s brief to be more specific.
below: A very realistic portrait of an old man with one green eye open.
And last, there were some word stencils….
below: #2mayo and “ecuador ama la vida” which is ‘ecuador, love life’ is now someone’s love note to Mina.
below: “Sigue to corazon & disfruta el viaje” which means “follow your heart and enjoy the trip”.
below: Natura Insurrecta? and “Mineria responsable cuento miserable”. The direct translation for the latter is “mining responsible, tale miserable”.
pesimo DMJC crew and saile_one in Wynwood
There is a large mural in Wynwood that is a collaboration between Peruvian street artist pesimo DMJC crew and saile_one. Four very large figures cover the side of a building. The car helps to give a sense of just how big the mural is.
below: There are a lot of details in the mural…. the spray paint can on the left, the vehicle crashed over the shoulder, an 8 ball, and a USB stick. Is it a snake or a wreath of living plants around the neck? Is it strangling him? The mask worn by the person on the right has a zipper, a padlock and crossed chopsticks.
below: More details. The dog is wearing a chain that says “trust no human”, and there are eyeballs on one of the heads. The man on the left is wearing a badge that says #NoDAPL which is the hashtag associated with the anti Dakota Access Pipeline protest including the resistance at Standing Rock.
below: Their “signature” includes their “portraits”.
