Pohukaina Street

A previous post showed a number of murals that have been painted near the corner of Cooke and Pohukaina Streets in the Kaka’ako district of Honolulu. If you were to stay on Pohukaina Street instead of turning on Cooke, you would walk past another wall of murals. This is that wall. It takes up the whole block.

below: It looks a lot like the work of krack1 but I haven’t been able to find any proof online (and I forgot to look for a ‘signature’ for this piece when I was taking photos).

Along the Cooke Street side of the building, there is a row of murals. This is some of them:

katch1 goes Japanese, with some others

I spotted a mural on Ala Moana, close to the ocean that was painted by Katch1

love birds

Christina Angelina, painted this very large mural on the side of an Office Depot store in the Kaka’ako neighborhood in Honolulu.

It shows two women warriors (? or Roman goddesses?) each wearing helmets and holding a gray and pink bird. The long curved beaks of the birds almost touch and their bodies come close to forming a heart shape.

Coral Street concrete

Kaka’ako, Honolulu

below: Along a fence made of concrete blocks there is a series of street art murals… with a big fish at the south end.

below: They are out “fishing” but trying to hook a slice of pizza. Riding along in that fish – is it a real fish? Or a boat called Cheez?. The passenger – more like a shrimp or lobster or something else altogether? Mural by CKaweekS (aka Jahjahjitsu).

below: One fellow doesn’t look that happy to be onboard for this adventure!
